1982–1986 — piano
The first pieces of the Suite for Piano (the Prelude and the Allemande) were composed in 1982 as an exercise in both musical form and dodecaphonic technique. Over the following years, I added more dances until I completed seven movements in 1986. The obvious reference in composing this suite of baroque dances in serial technique was Arnold Schoenberg, although the series I used was more Webernian in nature, which presented quite a few difficulties during composition.
